2008 July 11, Friday Roll up your sleeves, bring your laptop, and join us for a highly interactive seminar that explores the new internet resources available to county leaders and policymakers. We will examine the characteristics of websites such as MySpace, YouTube, Facebook and learn various ways to use this technology. You will learn the best ways to communicate your program, control your message, and how to avoid the kinds of mistakes that can disrupt sound plans and projects. We will also explore current trends such as blogs and web journals and examine real life examples that currently exist on the websites. At the end of the seminar you should have a better grasp of these emerging media outlets and how they can affect leadership strategies. If you are not able to bring a laptop, we will have a large screen for viewing by all participants. The presenter for this workshop is Carolyn Sawyer, Chief Creative Strategist, The Tom Sawyer Company, Columbia, SC, and Washington, DC.
